Fashion items go through a difficult process before reaching your local
mall. Fashion distribution raises more issues than the entire production
process itself. There is more going on in the back than what a simple
customer can view.

Distribution is what dictates the production process. There is close
link between supply and demand. A reliable distribution network will
dictate the success of a business. Nobody will boy your products if you
fail to deliver on time right? Retail sellers need to have the certainty
that the items they ordered are received when they expect them. Nobody
wants to fill their store with shirts in the winter because they might
not sell.
The quality of the products can also be affected in the distribution
process. Things can go wrong in the process. Imagine what will happen
with the goods if they were not properly protected during
transportation. Rain, cold and snow can deteriorate the items before
they reach the self. It takes dedicated people and many quality
assurance experts to see the entire process going through the end
successfully.

Even when things seem to go flawless, things can still go wrong.
Distribution is driven by demand first and supply second. If sales go
well, distribution starts to expand and more resellers place orders.
Sometimes, multiple fashion stores might receive merchandise in a single
shipment for all of them. Things can get mixed up and the wrong store
might get the wrong merchandise.

Fashion distribution will prove to have a lot of twists and turns. The
reliability of the distribution system is what makes the difference
between a successful company and a failing one. Keeping costs under
control and customers satisfied will fuel the entire supply chain
process, the profits and the prestige of a brand. When the finished
product is ready for distribution, things still can crumble down if the
distribution system is flawed.
